Late breaking news:

5/02/02: I've developed quite a talent for riding my tricycle: pedaling and steering with great speed and precision. Got trike, will travel!

1/31/02: I love to sit on the potty: "Once Upon a Potty" is my favorite potty book. Last Friday night, I peed in the potty for the first time!
9/11/01: It was a terrible day for our city, our country and the world. When I'm older, Mommy and Daddy will tell me about it.
9/9/01: Daddy converted my crib to a toddler bed. I still don't like it.
9/8/01: At 4am, I got so mad at Mommy and Daddy for leaving me in my crib that I climbed out!
7/13/01:  My first word (other than MaMa and DaDa) seems to be "go";  I often go over to my stroller, try to climb in and say "go, go, go!".  I'm also very much into climbing on anything and everything these days!
6/26/01:  I am an expert walker now:  I've walked all the way to 84th Street and yesterday when Mommy came home, I ran to the door to meet her.   Standing up is no big deal either -- I can do it without holding on to anything!
6/08/01:  I got my  first haircut!   I cried for the whole thing, but ended up looking pretty cute.
6/6/01:   I can walk by myself all the way a cross the room! And I'm already trying to run. Got my first skinned knee at the park today.
5/17/01:   I took two steps without holding on!
5/16/01:   I'm a whole year old!    Had my first taste of pizza at my party and I really liked it.
5/7/01:  I've been walking around pushing my Fisher Price activity walker and I'm really getting into everything.  Developed my first major phobia:  I'm terrified of grass.  Yes, grass!  Can't let it touch me!  Ready for my birthday next week.
3/23/01:  I feel a little better.   I figured out that I can stand up in my crib and jump up and down.  That's fun!
3/18/01:  After 10 months of relatively good health, I have my first ear infection and I'm extremely unhappy.   Mommy and Daddy keep force feeding me yucky medicine.   I hope I get better soon.  :-(
3/17/01:   I climbed up three stairs by myself!
3/13/01:  A couple of weeks ago I figured out how to crawl forward and today I figured out how to pull myself up to standing!   Look out, Mommy and Daddy -- you're in trouble now!
2/17/01:  I got my first two teeth!   They both came out at the same time, front bottom.   No pictures because I'm jealously guarding them.   Mommy and Daddy managed to sneak a peek, though.   I'm crawling a bit, clapping hands and playing catch and peek-a-boo.  I love the Muppets (especially Elmo).
12/21/00: Enjoying my first Chanukah.   I'm getting bigger (almost 20 lbs!), eating my fruits, veggies and cereal, starting to crawl backwards (very frustrating!) and giggling a lot.
10/2/00:  Enjoyed my first Rosh Hashanah.   Turned over from my stomach to my back a couple of times!
9/23/00:  Had my first cereal.  Mixed reviews.
9/21/00:  Went to the doctor:   15 lbs 9 1/2 oz!   I've doubled my birth weight!
9/20/00:   Got my first "big" toy, an Exersaucer.   I like it!
9/19/00:   Lots of progress on sleeping:   I often sleep to 5 or 6 now.  Reaching for toys, lots of babbling, want a lot of attention, love going on walks.   I have my first word:  "Ghee" (with a hard 'g') means "Hey, where are you going? I'm not done eating yet!"
8/22/00:  Went to the doctor:  I weigh 13 lbs, 10 oz (up 2 full pounds!).
8/16/00:   I'm three months old!   I've been doing lots of smiling, laughing and vocalizing and I'm getting better at using my hands (I grab at things, but mostly I'm just very good at sticking both fists into my mouth and sucking away).
8/07/00:   I did it again:  slept from 11 to 7 last night.   I haven't permanently given up the 3:30 feeding, but I'm loosening my grip on it!
8/02/00:   I slept through the night last night!   Mommy and Daddy are hoping against hope that I do it again.  Especially Mommy.  ;-)
7/30/00:   Had a bunch of friends over for the New Parents' Group meeting.
7/28/00:   Doing a lot of smiling and cooing and showing some interest in some toys.   Absolutely fascinated by my mobile.
7/19/00:  Went to the doctor and got my first two vaccinations (ouch!).   I weigh 11 lbs, 10 oz!

QuickTime movies:

We've also taken a number of QuickTime video movies of Martin.   They're about 15 seconds each, have no sound and are not going to be Oscar contenders.   But they do feature a lot of awfully cute flailing about, as well as some heart-warming smiles.  (And a few temper tantrums as well.)

To view the QuickTime movies, first download and install the QuickTime viewer.
Be sure to install the viewer by running the downloaded file.
Then click on any of the movies from the list below.   Note:  there may be a significant delay while the movie is downloaded.

Note:  the date of the movie is encoded in the name.  For example, P6130001 was taken on 6/13/00.   The last two digits are a sequence number.   Yes, I know they're not very descriptive names, but the camera generates them automatically.   So sue me.  :-)
